The Lanti Road
We help create a roadmap for students to build skills, experience success, and ignite a passion for music and for life.
Lanti Music (not to be confused with Latin Music – although who doesn’t love a great salsa or bachata) is a work in progress.
We could give you all the facts about how Lanti Music began in a suburb just outside of NYC. How our studio owner, Sarah, started teaching by traveling to students’ homes and local churches. She taught in her college practice rooms, and eventually built a home studio. We could talk about when she hired her first few teachers in 2008, and that in 2010 she decided to sell the NY studio and moved to North Carolina where she'd restart all over. From teaching out of her house, to giving lessons in a nearby coffee shop, to finally opening the colorful doors at Lanti Music’s current location in Indian Trail.
Yes, we could tell you all of these facts, But, if you ask Sarah when Lanti Music started, she would say this. It started during childhood when she convinced her siblings to “play school” on Saturday mornings.. It started when she created classes for the church kids during winter potlucks and when she turned pages for the pianist during choir rehearsals. She would say it started when she sang her first solo and continued when she had her first piano lesson at 12 years old. It started with hours of practice - practicing till her eyes were so heavy, she’d fall asleep at the piano - drool and everything. It started when she toured the US, Canada and performed in Europe. It began when she started student teaching and then stepping into her very first classroom. Lanti Music started with years of failing, succeeding, learning, struggling, performing, creating and achieving.
This is the thing - being passionate about teaching, passing on experiences, sharing years of accumulated knowledge – well, that doesn’t have a start date. It’s a culmination of your whole life.
And so it is with your child – the weekly music lessons, the ups and downs of practice, the first trophy sitting on top of the piano, Saturday’s that turn into jam sessions with friends – one day these moments will be remembered as the start of something amazing!
Our story is still being written. Will your child be a part of it? To be continued…
